"JAMMA" is an acronym for Japanese Amusement Machine Manufacturers Association

> All JAMMA members agreed in 1986 to use a standard pin-out configuration for
their game boards. Most game boards manufactured after 1987 were of the new
common configuration. (There were exceptions: for example, SEGA continued
to use their own non-JAMMA pinout for a few years until around 1989.)
